Antimicrobials stop the growth of harmful microorganisms in the body, so simultaneous use in both partners of metronidazole will help prevent the infection from living on and being passed between partners.

Do not take Flagyl (metronidazole):

Take this medication by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually once daily. It can be taken with or without food. If you are taking metronidazole regularly as directed, your dosage may need to be adjusted. If you are taking metronidazole regularly as your doctor directs, your dosage may need to be adjusted. For this reason, it is important to take this medication on an as-needed basis, with or without a meal.
Tell your doctor if your condition does not improve or if it worsens.
If you have difficulty swallowing tablets, crush the tablet and break it open. Take Flagyl (metronidazole with a glass of water) at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after eating.
If you are using this medication to treat a fever, it is usually given by injection into a vein. Your doctor will tell you what to do when you receive this medication.
Use this medication regularly to treat any of the bacterial infections listed above. To prevent infections from becoming more difficult to treat, it is important to use this medication regularly and continuously to prevent the bacteria from becoming resistant to the antibiotics you are taking.

For Each Patient:
Start with 100mg twice daily of HikPsir or Haemophilus ducreyolf. This can be taken in advance or in each day in the middle of the treatment. Dissolve 1 or 2 drops in water and take three drops every day. Most patients requiring the therapy get up too much after a few days to reduce the risk of resistance. If patients are not receiving neutimelating antibiotics, start with 25mg twice daily of Haemophilus ducreyolf.
The most common way of detecting overdoses of therapy is by culture and/or dialysis filtration. If there is no drug effect in the blood, therapy may be taken without fail. If a patient is taking over the counter medications (eg, indocid, amoxicillin), doses can be taken with food.
